BCC Water Network Governance
The Bolivian-Canadian Clean Water Network is registered society in Alberta (Full name: Bolivian-Canadian Clean Water Network Charitable Foundation; Corporate Access Number: 5013824817). It is administered by a volunteer board of directors that is elected by the organization's members at Annual General Meetings. The objectives of BCC Water Network are:
1) To improve the quality of drinking water in Bolivia by constructing water filters, wells, and sanitation systems.
2) To help Bolivians decrease malnutrition by improving water supply for small-scale agriculture and promoting practices for sustainable food production.
3) To promote health in Bolivia by educating the public on the prevention of water-related diseases and malnutrition.
4) To raise awareness in Canada about water and sanitation issue sand food security in Bolivia.
BCC Water Network dedicates the vast majority of its funding to the first two objectives, which are carried out by its Bolivian Partner organizations. The third objective is achieved on a purely volunteer basis, as we have no paid staff in Canada. A small percentage of money from fundraising events is used to cover the cost of renting out the venue, and providing food.
